Our Half Day Canterbury Tours are between four and five hours duration, ex Christchurch and return. We have morning (8:00am) or afternoon (1:00pm) departures that run on demand. These tours are great for those short on time.
Pickup and drop off is provided from most of the major hotels and motels within the Christchurch CBD, or from outside the Canterbury Museum.
Each tour includes snacks, nibbles, beverages, airconditioned transport, experienced driver-guide, tailored photography tuition (if required), all activities and fees (as applicable), and of course photogenic scenery galore!
With five different tour options that cover farms, mountains, oceans, history, and harbour fronts, the variety of tours means we have something for just about everyone
Priced From: $131.75 per person; Duration: 4-5 Hours; Max of 6 guests.

Isolated in Canterbury
Lees Valley
Isolated from the wider Canterbury community, Lees Valley is a hidden farming community right on the edges of the Southern Alps, where the only access is via a narrow, twisting gravel road that barely clings to the hillside

Higher and Closer than Arthurs Pass
Porters Pass
At a little over 930m this is the highest point on SH 73, which links Canterbury to the West Coast, even higher than the better know Arthurs Pass! An added bonus is Lake Lyndon on the other side of the pass

An Extinct Volcanic Caldera
Lyttelton Harbour
For this tour we escape Christchurch city via the famous Lyttelton Tunnel before working our way around the shoreline of the extinct volcano that forms the harbour. We finish up in Camp Bay before retracing our steps, but with a twist

Ocean Beaches and Historic Places
Sumner to Godley Head
Heading South-East out of Christchurch our first stop is on the shores of Ihutai at McCormicks Bay, before heading into Sumner to explore Cave Rock and the local beach. From there, it’s off to historic Godley Head with its expansive views of North Canterbury and the Lyttelton Harbour

Hilltops Views and Ocean Beaches
Dyers Pass to Birdlings Flat
For this one we head up Dyers Pass out of Christchurch to the Sign of the Kiwi Cafe. (Maybe an ice cream stop if they’re open), before making our way slowly along the Summit Road towards Gebbies Pass from where we head for the oceanic beach that is Birdlings Flat
